Matt & Meghan {Wedding} – Boston, Massachusetts

I was backing up and to my surprise the big wooden doors at the back of the church didn’t open. Matt and Meghan had just finished their first kiss and were headed down the aisle toward me. I was taking photos and backing up towards the doors at the same time. In my experience there has ALWAYS been someone there in charge of opening those doors. So much so I have gotten in the habit of not looking behind me and just focusing on the photos. The thought never even occurred to me that they might not open. But then all of a sudden I ran into two closed doors. I already had the shot I needed, so I opened them and held them open as Matt & Meghan passed into the empty lobby. At that very moment I realized how much Meghan’s Mom and a few other people had contributed to putting her gorgeous wedding together. So much so that in this case there was really no need for an official coordinator. Those closed doors all of a sudden symbolized a lot of love that a lot of people had for Meghan. With all that love they aren’t going to be out in the lobby opening a door which really doesn’t need to be opened anyway. They are going to be up on the front row or standing beside her as she gets married. All of a sudden, to me, that moment was the best part of the wedding.

But, of course there are a lot more photos and every aspect was a thrill & joy. Matt & Meghan you two are the sweetest ever. Suzy and I both left the day with huge smiles.
