We just returned from an incredible weekend at the Resolved Conference in Palm Springs! As I was thinking over the weekend, I wanted to write a little note about the band.
I have a seven note range when it comes to singing. It’s true, I can’t even sing a full octave. I also don’t have a very good ear when it comes to listening to music. So any acclaim, or criticism, I might have to offer up wouldn’t really be worth the space I take to write it. However, I do know that ever since Enfield started making music, a number of years ago, it has not left the top pick of my play list. In fact, whenever the case comes to where I need to pick one album to listen to for an extended period, Enfield always makes the cut. I also know that they have received accolades from many others in regards to the superior quality of their music, and that much press can’t be wrong.
But aside from the music, what I can attest to is the character of the band members. I don’t regularly get to spend time with all of them. But I have gotten to interact with everyone at various interpersonal levels at different intervals throughout the year. In fact I just realized that at one point or another I have photographed everyone in the band individually as well as in a group for one reason or another. All to say, this is a group who is devoted to the glory of God. They are a humble, loving, compassionate bunch of true worshipers. Each one devoted to their own relationship with Christ, devoted to making music that tells of the glories of Christ, and devoted to leading others in worship through the words and music. I love it. If you don’t already have them, I would recommend you buy or download all their albums right now!
Group Photo of the band from Resolved 2011. Yes I pulled apart one of my pianos to create that background image. (I apologize to all you piano lovers out there, but it was already broken when I got it, and served a noble purpose!) Here’s a few shots of them at Capital Records, working on one of their albums, and a shoot we did for one of the CD covers.

John Martin introducing this years album of hymns.
David Zimmer: Earlier this year we did a little promo shoot to go along with David’s newly released album.
Ryan Foglesong: We did some super fun engagement photos a couple years ago!
Paul Hoover: Yes Paul and his wife were my first underwater session! The only one we did without heating the pool!
Patrick Anderson: Engagement photos in the city! Patrick was also the sole musician at Suzy and my wedding. Our wedding was simple, small, and out on the sand at the beach. We didn’t have any speakers, or even chairs for that matter. It was just Patrick on his acoustic guitar and it was wonderful. Thanks again Patrick!
Meghan Zeikle: We actually just did an engagement session a few days ago, and I will be shooting their wedding this fall in Kansas!
John & Lisa Martin: Lisa is an incredible florist and has done some awesome arrangements for us over the years, so you will see her name on my blog fairly often. But I did do a little session with them a number of years ago here, and a session with John’s family back when we did family photos. They also volunteered to show off my scene for Portraits for Christmas here.
All said, Suzy and I love you guys!
