Q. What should I bring to my shoot? (e-sessions, portraits, etc.)
A. Well the first thing you need to bring is some excitement! I don’t expect you to know how to model or how to smile or even how to engage the camera. All of that is pretty easy and I can explain once you arrive. The best thing you can do is to come ready and excited so we can work together to create some amazing images! Without you I would only have photos of my own feet. =).
On the material side it’s a good idea to bring 6 to 7 different sets of clothes (Jeans and T’s, Anthropology type clothes, a summer dress for girls, as well as some formal clothes). Primary and secondary non-pastel colors look best. Couples should choose outfits that do not clash. Bring something trendy, fun, comfortable and you. If you don’t feel comfortable in the clothes, you won’t look comfortable in them. So be happy, be trendy, be dressy, but most importantly be YOU.
Q. Will you do “on location” if I have a certain location in mind?
A. I LOVE new places and new ideas, so if it’s feasible I’d love to consider the location you have in mind. We can head into the city, out to the mountains, cruise the beach, walk down the strip on Sunset, head to Disneyland, wander the alleys of the urban centers, explore the train station. Let’s think outside the box and make images that say something about you! My goal is always to out-do whatever I have done before, so the bigger, better, and brighter ideas we can come up with the better!
Q. Can I download/purchase the slideshows you post on your blog?
A. I do offer an extended DVD version of the slideshows for $225. However, due to the music copyrights you will need to provide me with a song to use. DVD slideshows are playable on any standard DVD player.
Q. How many photos will I get on my DVD?
A. For e-sessions or portrait sessions you will generally end up with about 75 to 200 proofs. Out of those, I will usually pick my favorite 20 or so and polish them for my blog.
Q. Are the pictures that I get on my DVD edited?
A. All the images are color corrected and any dust or obvious blemishes are removed.
Q. Do you do weddings outside of L.A? What is the additional cost for destination weddings?
A. I do a good number of weddings outside of LA each year. For travel I just do $125 per night (usually one night for weddings in Northern California and two for other states). If I need to fly you can just cover the flights and rental car. If I drive it’s .55 cents per mile over 40 miles from my studio address to the wedding site and back.
Q. How soon will I get my wedding photos?
A. Usually I get some photos up on my blog within a week and have all the proofs done within one to three weeks. However, there are certain times of the year where I am extra busy. And I don’t like to rush the process and reduce the quality of my work, so during the busy times it might take a little longer.
