Photography 101 Post Class

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

The past few weeks have been quite a blur, and the next few don’t look like they will be much slower. But I did finally make it home and have a few days to sit down and do a little catch up work! First off I just wanted to thank everyone who came to my Photography 101 workshop two Saturday’s ago. We spent a lot of time really focusing on the correct way to use a camera manually. We went over all the key prerequisites you NEED to know before you can really progress in any direction. Suzy couldn’t be there for the first half of the class, so I don’t have many photos from there, but she did take a few when we went down to NoHo and the studio to practice a little bit of what we learned.

Sometimes I can’t believe how sweet people are. First you pay to come and hang out, and then you send me thank you letters! I should be the one thanking you all for showing up!

Most of the people for the morning lecture session:

Thanks for these two Tyler. I stole them off your page. =).

Last week I opened up registration for my July 17th photo workshop. Since then I have had a few people ask if I could do a couples discount. Since it will be be such an interactive one on one type thing where we will be looking at settings on everyone’s individual camera, two people with two cameras need to register individually. However, if it is two people with a single camera between them that’s a different story. We’ll call it the “bring a friend” deal and just add $50 for the day.

So please forward this on to any friends or family who you think might be interested, and I hope to see you there!

Behind the Scenes Video Documentary (Contrast Concepts)

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

A little over a year ago I had an idea. I wanted to put a shoot together to create some images which were just a little bit different. Images which would inspire ideas to think outside the box, and to explore new things. I named the idea and shoot “Contrast Concepts”. As things go, it took a lot of planning and a few months to put together, but all happened last July.

However, as many of you know, I got married in October and the behind the scenes footage got put on the shelf for a little bit. But a few weeks ago I finally had a chance to pull it out and put together this short 10 minute documentary. It’s part of the new LEARN: section on my site. So be sure to give me feedback if you find the information useful, or entertaining. =).

Be sure to post a link to your Twitter, or Facebook, or email this to any photographer friends or brides you know who might benefit.
