Mark & Tara: Toronto Wedding

June 29th, 2009

Wow the last week and a half as been a crazy photography rush for me! First 4 days of shooting at Resolved, followed by 4 days of shooting in Canada (Wedding, Family, Workshop & Fun Day downtown Toronto), followed by an awesome e-session in downtown L.A, then two more weddings over the weekend and a quick portrait session this morning. Other than the fact I am so exhausted I could sleep for 3 days it was a ton of fun! I have one more fun bridal portrait session the end of this week, but other than that the next 10 days will be for getting some images online!

But on to Mark and Tara’s wedding! As I mentioned in my last post the whole weekend was a blast! I really enjoyed everything from the rehearsal dinner all the way to the getaway. A few additional things to note:

1. I love the “Bridal Room” right off the front entry of Tara’s parents house. Great decorating job!
2. Tara had a second wedding dress, an evening gown, she changed into during the reception. Classy. I like it!
3. The getaway was at 1:30am at which point I went home, but I hear there was an after party at the Valeriote home later still. Someone tell me what that was all about and how you stayed awake lol. =)

Ok, I guess I will let the Storybook Show tell the rest of the story. The really cool thing about this Storybook is that Mark wrote and performed the song I used. There’s some talent there! Check it out and let me know what you think.

I also already have all the PROOFS up for viewing and ordering.

Toronto in Review

June 24th, 2009

A little later this afternoon I will be heading back to Los Angeles so I thought I would post a quick review of my week here in bullet items.

#1 Toronto has some beautiful country side.
#2 I got to spend a good amount of time with Mark and Tara’s family and decided I really like them all.
#3 Tara looks gorgeous in a wedding dress.
#4 I went to my first little league game to see Tim Challies son Nick play. As underwhelming as little league is I enjoyed getting outside, taking some more photos, eating ice cream from the ice cream truck and chit chatting.
#5 As soon as I finish this post I’m going to head out to see more of downtown Toronto. So no update on what I think yet.
#6 I forgot mosquitoes existed, but I was reminded.
#7 Tim Hortons. Popular.
#8 Tim Challies. Smart

Since I have a double header of weddings coming up this weekend I might not have a chance to post Mark & Tara’s till next week, so here’s a little preview!

This isn’t from the wedding, but I loaned one of my camera’s to my new friend Josh at the photo workshop I did Sunday and he snapped this one of me.

Packing List

June 17th, 2009

After returning from Resolved I spent last night unpacking all my equipment, cleaning everything, replacing broken items, and charging all my batteries. Tonight I am packing it all up again to head to Toronto for a wedding, a workshop I am teaching and a few other shoots. Here’s my list of things I had packed. Let me know what’s missing:

Cameras, camera batteries, batter chargers, flashes, flash batteries, battery chargers, remotes, sync cables, remote batteries w/chargers, lots of lenses (caps and cases), backup lenses, flash cards, backup flash cards, shoot bag, shoot reflector, color target, monopod, tripod, macro lens, laptop, backup drive, backup DVD’s, power cable, USB cables, flash reader, usb splitter, iphone w/charger, ipod w/charger, earphones, passport, soft cases for everything, hard case to put the softcases in.

Yup I think that’s it. Done packing now I can relax. Then there came this nagging feeling I as forgetting something. If you guessed it you win. Yup clothes. lol. I think I was thinking too much about the photos and forgot I need something to wear. =). Anyway I just thought I would share. =).
